Mary Buckman, SRA

Mary is a Wisconsin Certified General Appraiser and holds the SRA, Senior Residential Appraiser, designation from the Appraisal Institute. She became an appraiser in 1980 and was the first woman real estate appraiser within the Green Bay area.

In 1989, Mary and Richard Vogels, MAI started Vogels Buckman Appraisal Group, Inc. with Richard as President and Mary as Vice-President. In December of 2011, Mary acquired full ownership of the firm and is now the President. Richard has since retired but is still on staff as a Review Appraiser.

With over 30 years of experience, Mary has completed appraisals on all types of properties including residential, multi-family, light industrial and commercial, both existing and improved. At this point in time, she specializes in the appraisal of residential subdivisions utilizing discounted cash flow analysis in Brown County as well as Oconto, Door, Outagamie, Calumet and Winnebago Counties. In addition, she completes appraisals for Conservation Easements for both the property owner (non-cash charitable contribution for IRS purposes) and various conservation groups such as the Door County Land Trust, the Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy and The Ridges Sanctuary. In 2007, she completed the week long course called Valuation of Conservation Easements in Denver, Colorado. She has provided many appraisals to meet the requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Grant Program.

In addition, Mary completes appraisals for right of way acquisition for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the Bureau of Aeronautics and the Federal Aviation Administration along with various County and local governments as well as property owners, meeting the requirements of the Uniform Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions.

Other governmental Clients include the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewage District, the Cities of Green Bay, De Pere, Menasha and Appleton, the Town of Grand Chute, the Villages of Allouez, Bellevue and Sister Bay and the Towns of Ledgeview, Jacksonport and Liberty Grove.

Mary has been active as an appraiser in the Door County market for many years.

Mary has testified as an expert witness for various lenders, attorneys and clients within Brown County, Outagamie County, Kewaunee County and Shawano County courts as well as before Boards of Appeal and Condemnation Commissions.

Mary is a member of the Appraisal Institute, the Wisconsin Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, the Brown County Home Builders Association, the Wisconsin Realtors Association and the Realtors Association of Northeast Wisconsin.
